It started with a song, developed into a children's book and began a movement...My Daddy Reads!

Celebrated arts educator and award-winning artist Annie Ruth teams up with Gerian Johnson, (also known as Mys Mone‘t) to share a heart-warming adaptation of their song, "My Daddy Reads". The inspiring and engaging words encourage both reading and singing.  Beautiful full-color art and graphics will delight young readers and provide teachable moments for both children and adults.

The book also provides a special affirmation at the end of the book, written by Annie Ruth,  to inspire fathers.

Annie Ruth

International Artist/Poet
Annie Ruth is a dynamic sister who utilizes her positive voice to inspire audiences internationally. She is an award-winning poet, author, and performer. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from National University in San Diego, California.

Annie Ruth has a passion for empowering others. Her work has impacted countless people across the globe. She has presented workshops and performed in national forums such as Speaking of Women's Health®, Universal Sisters® the National Council of Negro Women conferences and numerous other civic and community venues..

A few of her awards include an Athena International Leadership Award, NAACP Innovative Educator Award, YWCA Career Woman of Achievement, an Ohio Senate Commendation, Leading Woman award for Arts & Entertainment, and Enquirer Woman of the Year.

Gerian Johnson

Gerian Johnson (also known a Mys Mone‘t) is a rapper and author from Cincinnati, Ohio. She worked with Annie Ruth to write the My Daddy Reads Song that was eventually adapted into a book to help encourage fathers to read to their children. 

She is currently working to write and produce her EP Scheduled for a summer release. her hope is to leave a positive impact on the world and be a voice for her generation.
